The Longest Golf Hole in the World Is Over 1,000 Yards

The longest golf hole in the world is the 3rd hole on the Jeongeup Course at Gunsan Country Club in South Korea. This par-7 hole stretches an incredible 1,097 yards (1,003 meters), making it the only known par-7 of this length globally.

About the Hole

  • Course: Gunsan Country Club, Jeongeup Course, Hole 3

  • Par: 7

  • Length: 1,097 yards (1,003 meters)

  • Location: North Jeolla Province, South Korea

  • Features: Built on a former salt field, the course includes many water hazards and 26 bridges connecting its 81 holes.

This hole is so long that players often need multiple full shots just to reach the green. For example, professional golfer Florentyna Parker reportedly used a driver, three 3-woods, a 5-wood, and two putts to make par.

Other Notable Long Holes

  • Satsuki Golf Club in Japan previously held the record with a 964-yard par-7.

  • Chocolay Downs in the United States features a 1,007-yard par-6, one of the longest in North America.

While standard golf course design typically limits par to between 3 and 6, holes like these challenge both the rules and the players with their extraordinary length.
