Stewart’s Nero cart bag will likely be more appealing if you already have—or are planning to buy—one of Stewart’s remote carts. Their overall aesthetics complement each other and the company’s product page suggests they are a “perfect” match.

If you don’t have one, you’ll have to decide how it matches up with the best cart bags currently available. Compared to the ones on our list, it’s in the middle of the pack for price and weight.

The Nero bag’s exterior is primarily all-black “tour-grade” synthetic leather. You, like me, are probably familiar with the implication that this means it’s the same kind of stuff a pro would use on the PGA Tour. But it turns out there’s no standard definition for the term and the actual quality of “tour-grade” material can vary widely across brands.

Q: Can you please explain Lie Angle Balancing to me like I’m a 10-year old?

Lie Angle Balancing is all about how the putter moves during your putting stroke. L.A.B. Golf’s Revealer, shown in the video above, demonstrates how traditional putters will twist during the putting stroke. L.A.B. Golf putters stay stable, not rotating at all as they are swung.

This lack of rotation eliminates the opening and closing of the putter face relative to the path during your stroke, allowing the putter to naturally return to square at impact.

Since 1999, All Kids Golf Clubs has been making it easy for kids of all ages to get into golf with equipment that actually suits their needs.

Today marks one year since the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund entered into a framework agreement that stunned the golf world. 

It was a jarring development that blindsided most of golf’s key stakeholders. The sight of Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan sitting next to PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan during a TV hit for CNBC felt like a fever dream. 

Immediately, grand conclusions and rash generalizations were being made—and justifiably so, given that a partnership between these bitter rivals seemed inconceivable. 

“The Saudis own professional golf now,” thousands posted on social media. 

The framework agreement, which was erroneously touted as a “merger” during the initial rollout, promised a reunification of the professional game. LIV Golf, which is bankrolled by the PIF, appeared destined to dissolve, as most concluded the game’s best would reunite in one place that already enjoyed infrastructure and corporate sponsorship stability. The original framework agreement said that an “empirical data-driven evaluation” would be conducted to determine LIV’s future and that Monahan “will determine the ongoing plan and strategy.”

Before we approached the first tee at Pinehurst No. 2, I asked to make a quick pit stop.

I didn’t need to go to the bathroom. I didn’t need to buy a box of balls from the clubhouse—though they definitely would have come in handy that day. I wanted to take a picture.

With putter in hand, I balanced on my left leg, leaned forward and thrust my right fist proudly into the air.

“Kick your back leg up and out a little bit more,” my photographer instructed as he snapped away.

Too stiff from a recent knee injury on this brisk winter morning, I did the best I could to replicate the iconic celebratory pose from 1999 U.S. Open champion Payne Stewart immortalized in bronze approximately 50 yards off the 18th green at Pinehurst No. 2.

The enjoyment of golf is about setting goals that bring you energy and fun. When you’re having more fun you’re in a happy place. Ben Hogan, one of the greatest champions in the history of the game, said he was happy to hit just one or two perfect shots per round. He said that everyone — from high-handicappers to scratch players — would be wise to play the game that way.

Julie Elion is a mental-game guru, who reminded us of Bobby Jones’ quote: “Golf is a game that’s played on a five-inch course — the distance between your ears,” She found that the mind is the most daunting hazard out there on any course.

Set Your Goals
Julie helps golfers identify their personal goals before every event. The most common theme is CONSCIOUS POSITIVE INTENTIONS. All it takes is a simple message — distilled into a few easy-to-remember lines. Positive goals play better than those who play with fear of negative outcomes. An obsessive insight and analysis about a problem seldom results in a winning putt. Focus on your target Negative thoughts based on avoidance cause a bad case of energy drain.

Knowledge of a relevant hazard is useful, but it’s not a goal. Positivity is paramount. Elite athletes, like Scottie Scheffler with an optimal mental attitude are the ones who end up pulling away from the pack.
