The catchphrase “Nothing feels like a Mizuno” is, in part, a marketing hashtag. It is also, in part, the battle cry of Mizuno loyalists everywhere. At some point during any round, the guy with a JPX anything in his bag will pure one, look at the rest of group, smirk a little and let you into his world.

“Nothing feels like a Mizuno.”

We know, dude. We know.

It stands to reason, then, that if nothing feels like a Mizuno, then nothing should feel like the “Mizuno Experience.” If MyGolfSpy’s recent tour of the new Mizuno Research and Performance Development Center, a.k.a. The Foundry, is any indication, the good folks in Atlanta might be on to something.

Welcome to The Foundry

Mizuno’s The Foundry is the company’s brand-new custom fitting and R&D center. It opened last month and is located about an hour north of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on the grounds of The Standard Club, a stunning private course in Johns Creek, Georgia.

I’ll admit it. Until I started looking around online, I never gave much thought to accessories for my rangefinder. I would venture to guess that you haven’t much to this point either. I stumbled across this video from MeandMyGolf on YouTube. It’s a couple of months old, but it’s packed with great advice if you’re looking to hit longer drives without buying a new club. This is a live lesson, which for me makes it even better. You’re not watching a polished swing. You’re seeing real-time instruction with measurable results on an average golfer. The golfer in this video added 15 yards of carry and saw a significant improvement in launch height and consistency, all thanks to a setup adjustment.

What was the problem?

The golfer in the video was hitting low right misses and struggling with inconsistent ball flight.

Before the adjustment, the golfer had:

Ball position too far back in the stance, pretty much in the centerA descending angle of attack, more like an iron than a driverLow launch height (average of 44 feet)Right-side misses caused by the steep path and open face

He was making decent contact, but he was completely unaware of his ball position. He’s not the only one! The setup that he had was destined to fail before he even took the club back.

How was it fixed?

Two main fixes happened during the lesson. The first was moving the ball position forward. Using alignment sticks to set up a practice station is a good idea.

Titleist dominated the early 2025 PGA Tour season, earning six wins, the most by any single brand. Titleist’s driver lineup, particularly the new GT series (GT2 and GT3), proved especially popular, along with the trusted TSi and TSR series.

The Titleist GT2 was the fifth-best driver of 2025 in the Most Wanted Driver testing. Its distance performance helped. The GT2 is the longest driver of 2025, with the GT4 and GT3 not far behind.

PING drivers have captured 5 of the first 19 PGA Tour events in 2025. What’s most interesting about the PING lineup is that you’ll find the G425, G430, and G440 drivers mixed in. There are still several players on TOUR who have yet to transition to the G440, with many keeping the G430 LST in play.

The G430 Max 10K, which helped Ben Griffin win the Zurich, was the best driver of 2024 in our testing and still earned a runner-up finish when it was retested in 2025. It’s a top performer on Tour and for amateur players.

Putting is the great equalizer in golf. You don’t need 190 mph ball speed or a 320-yard drive to be the best with the putter. What you need is consistency, feel, and the right gear. And right now, no one on the PGA Tour is putting better than Nico Echavarria. Echavarria is a 30-year-old from Colombia who’s quietly climbed to the top of the strokes gained putting rankings. The good news for you is that he’s doing it with a putter you can buy for under $130.

Echavarría is a two-time PGA Tour winner, with victories in 2023 and 2024. In 12 starts this season, he’s recorded a runner-up finish, a top 10, two top-25s, and earned over $1.5 million.

But the real story is on the greens, he leads the Tour in strokes gained putting, averaging +0.907 per round and totaling +28.104 over 31 measured rounds. He’s doing it with a putter you can buy used for under $130: the Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Seven.

When it first hit the market in 2023, the big story was that Odyssey brought its multi-material “5K” technology to mallets. Up until then, the Tri-Hot 5K line was reserved for blades. With the addition of the Seven and Rossie mallets, players finally had access to Odyssey’s high-MOI tech in more forgiving, familiar shapes.

Buying used golf clubs is one of the smartest ways to build your dream bag without breaking the bank. But it’s also a project that requires some strategy. Here are our best tips for building a used golf club set you’ll be proud to bring to the first tee.

Don’t be fooled by clean clubs, check the grooves 

A sky mark on a driver is nothing compared to grooves on a wedge that are completely worn down. Irons and wedges don’t last forever. If you are purchasing clubs from someone who has played a ton of golf, chances are the grooves are probably kind of shot. 

Run your finger across the grooves if you can. If they are shallow in the middle with deep edges on the side, it’s not worth your money. Anything that’s a few years old and played regularly will not have the same spin performance as a newer club would have. 

Worn grooves directly impact your ability to score. 

The shaft can ruin a “Deal”

Don’t overlook the shaft. It’s where most of the dangerous damage hides. Since replacing a shaft can cost as much as the club, it’s probably not worth the money.

Golfers love a good debate, blades vs. cavity backs, walking vs. riding, and yes, spiked vs. spikeless shoes. Despite major advancements in both categories, a few outdated beliefs are still hanging around. Here are the biggest spiked vs. spikeless shoe myths golfers still believe in 2025.

Myth 1: Spikeless shoes can’t provide enough traction for serious golfers
