Rory McIlroy said it was 'definitely I think a surprise for everyone' that the U.S. Ryder Cup team had selected Keegan Bradley as its new captain.

After Vokey launched its wedge fitting app, you had to figure it was only a matter of time before Titleist would create something similar for the golf ball.
It was, and so here we are.
Titleist has just announced Version 1 (internally, it might be Version 1.32 or something like that but we can round down) of its ball-fitting app. As you would probably guess, the app is designed to fit golfers for Titleist golf balls and with that come both cool features and limitations.
About the Titleist ball-fitting app
At the risk of being exhaustingly specific, in its current state the app allows Titleist ball fitters with access to a Trackman launch monitor to effectively fit golfers for a premium Titleist golf ball off both grass and mats.
Let’s dissect that a bit.

Yes.

But that’s just my opinion. I want to hear yours. Do you think golf should have a dress code? Take this short survey and let us know your thoughts.

Last week, we asked you to let us know which club brand you could play for the rest of your life. We gathered responses from over 3,000 golfers.
Ultimately, the race came down to two competitors: PING and Titleist.

There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What We Tried:
The lululemon ShowZero polo. A new garment from the Canadian athleisure giant that promises to, as the name suggests, show zero sweat.
Who Tried It:
Connor. Director of Content and resident sneakerhead. I’ve never considered myself a sweater but then I moved to Virginia where it’s seemingly always hot and frustratingly humid. Now I can’t help but perspire profusely when I play golf.
You’ll have to excuse my poorly executed selfies but it was the best way to “check in” every so often to see if I was sweating through the shirt.
Test conditions
Normally I wouldn’t bore you with the weather details of my round but there’s no other way to convey my experience with the lululemon ShowZero polo.

Olympic golf has been in an awkward position since the sport was reintroduced to the Summer Games in 2016.
The first two editions were moderately successful but lacked the juice of a big event. In 2016, the Zika virus was used as justification for several top men’s players to skip the tournament. Five years later, there were missing players due to COVID-19.
Now we have a clean slate for the 2024 Games in Paris as the men’s and women’s tournaments will be held at Le Golf National, host of the 2018 Ryder Cup. The top players figure to show up with few exceptions.
And, still, golf in the Olympics doesn’t have the same gravitas as other top events on the calendar. The women’s game has embraced it more than the men have but we’ve yet to see Olympic golf flourish into its full potential on either side.
Some of that will take time. No golfer grew up dreaming about being in the Olympics—they dreamed of winning majors. It takes time for history to build.
Golf is expensive, I feel you. I am always looking for ways I can save on my next purchase, and the putter I’ve got for you today does just that. When it comes to not wasting your cash, we’ve got you covered.

You may or may not realize this but Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. has an ever-increasing footprint in the golf world. They are making a lasting impression on die-hard golfers, weekend warriors, casual golfers, even non-golfers.
They achieve all of this through many avenues but most notably by those who play a Callaway driver.
You likely know the professional golfers: Xander Schauffle, Jon Rahm, Rose Zhang and others. There are popular YouTubers who game Callaway drivers such as Good Good and Bob Does Sports. Arguably, the latter two bring more eyes and exposure to Callaway than the pros.
Although you likely aren’t a pro or a celebrity, you may want to put a Callaway driver in your bag. So we are here to answer the question: Which Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Driver is best for you?
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Driver Lineup
The first talking point you need to understand is this: Not all drivers are created equal. Each one of Callaway’s drivers has a specific design and is geared towards certain golfers.

There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What We Tried:
The Garmin Approach Z30. The latest and (hopefully) greatest rangefinder from Garmin.
Who Tried It:
Connor. Director of Content and resident sneakerhead. I’ve never been a rangefinder guy. But when I heard the new Z30 works in tandem with my current watch, the Approach S70, I figured I’d give it a go.
About the Approach Z30
Did you know it’s been four years since Garmin released a new rangefinder? Not to say the Z82 is dated but we’ve been long overdue for a new laser. Right from the jump, there are two things that really speak to me: price and performance.
Let’s start with price. The Z30 is just $399, a far cry from the $599 price tag of its predecessor. That sub-$400 price puts it into firmly in line with other mid-tier offerings. That’s a win.

If you want to amuse yourself for an hour or two, bring up the concept of jacked lofts online.
Then get your popcorn, sit back and watch the internet’s golf Illuminati lose its collective mind.
Read through comments on Twitter/X, Facebook or Instagram and you’ll learn that, when it comes to conspiracies, loft-jacking is up there with the fake moon landing, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and the 1966 swap of a dead Paul McCartney with a live look-alike.
Play the White Album backward, man. It’s all there.
The internet does love to decry the abomination of jacked lofts. Purists wish the industry would standardize and return to “traditional” lofts, whatever that means. Today’s column, however, intends to stir the pot like a Waring blender.
