First Look: adidas Triple Black Collection

Say hello to the Triple Black Tour360 22 and CodeChaos 22 from adidas Golf. All-black has never looked so good.

As if adidas needed to make their two flagship golf shoes any more sexy, they went ahead and blacked them out from tongue to sole. The results are stunning.

The Details

Both the adidas Tour360 22 and CodeChaos 22 will be released in the Triple Black colorway at adidas  at 2 a.m. EST on Thursday, Sept. 1. The shoes will be available in limited quantities. Retail is $210 and $160, respectively.

The Tech

Both the adidas Tour360 22 and the CodeChaos 22 feature full-length BOOST cushion, adidas’ proprietary eTPU foam. This is intended to provide maximum impact protection, energy return and step-in comfort.

The company says adidas’ SPIKEMORE traction on the Tour360 22 and TWISTGRIP spikeless traction on the CodeChaos 22 are effective in all directions and in all weather conditions.

Worn by Xander Schauffele on the PGA TOUR, the adidas Tour360 22 finished as the runner-up in our testing for the best spiked golf shoes of 2022. The solid build of premium leather and proprietary BOOST cushion are bolstered by exceptional traction and stability.

This is, without a doubt, adidas’ flagship golf shoe and the results of our testing speak for themselves. If you’re looking for an all-around solid spikeless performer, look no further than the adidas Tour360 22.

The adidas CodeChaos 22 is as comfortable as it is sexy. Backed by a full-length BOOST midsole and that wrap-around traction adidas is calling TWISTGRIP, you should have no issues with traction or stability while rocking these bad boys on the course. Be warned: You won’t be breaking any ankles, but you may turn some heads.

The Verdict

I know you didn’t ask for my opinion but I’m going to give it to you anyway. Had these two shoes come in the Triple Black colorway a few months back when I grabbed them, I would have opted for the sleek, all-black look in a heartbeat. It’s kind of ironic if you think about it, considering that a lot of the Tour players like to stick with all-white color schemes, but adidas seems to be listening to the consumer here.

Testing aside, I’m a big fan of both of these shoes and find myself wearing them pretty often. And now that I don’t have to deal with adidas’ usual theme of gaudy, outrageously bright colors? That’s a win in my book. Both the Tour360 22 and the CodeChaos 22 (but especially the CodeChaos 22) made their debut this year in polarizing colorways so it’s only fair that adidas hooks us up with something a little more mellow and subdued.

adidas Triple Black Collection—Done Deal or Trendy Trash?

Do you plan on scooping these up or are you content with the other colorways of the Tour360 22 and CodeChaos 22? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section. If you already own either of these pairs, does this new all-black color make you want to go out and buy another?

Pro Tip: If you’re planning on making a move at the adidas Triple Black Collection, make sure your payment info is readily available—limited shoes tend to go fast.
