It’s May, So It’s Time For Another Limited Edition COBRA Driver

It’s been almost a month since COBRA released a limited edition DS-ADAPT driver.

I trust everyone has been able to cope.

Seriously, gang, we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: No one does limited edition drivers like COBRA. No one.

If you need evidence to support that conclusion, I submit for your approval the Augusta-themed Season Opener, the island-vibed Palm Tree Crew collab and the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational gem. You may love ‘em, you may not, but you have to admit no one is doing these things quite like COBRA is.

And for the record, I am a fan.

Now that May is upon us, COBRA is launching what has become a Memorial Day tradition for the company: a collaboration with the patriotic lifestyle brand Volition America.

Volition America is a longtime collaborator with both COBRA and PUMA. It works with manufacturers of all sorts of lifestyle and sports equipment to create special limited edition products, all designed with patriotic themes.

Volition America works closely with Folds of Honor. That organization supports the children of American servicemen and women and first responders killed or wounded in the line of duty. Since its inception, Folds of Honor has donated over $220 million in scholarships to over 53,000 young men and women. Some 90 percent of the money raised goes directly to scholarship programs.

As with its other limited edition offerings, the COBRA Volition America limited edition includes its current DS-ADAPT drivers. The DS-ADAPT LS is COBRA’s 445cc low-spin model, while the DS-ADAPT X is the 460cc driver designed to fit the widest array of golfers. The DS-ADAPT MAX-K is the 10K MOI model, providing maximum forgiveness.

Each driver features COBRA’s new FUTUREFIT33 adjustable hosel, which allows for 33 unique loft and lie settings.

What makes them so special?

The COBRA Season Opener was a retro Georgia peach of a design. The Volition America Limited Edition follow-up is subtly patriotic with a military theme. The sole and face both feature a digital camo pattern, while the crown is embossed with tiny fighter jets. The Mitsubishi Tensei Black shaft is also adorned with fighter jet imagery. As usual, COBRA is also providing a custom headcover. This one features the Volition America logo and a stylized and blacked-out Stars and Stripes.

In addition to COBRA and PUMA, Volition America collaborates with other brands on special editions. Those collabs include Marucci on baseball and softball gear, UNRL on apparel and even Foresight on a Volition America QuadMAX launch monitor.

If you love the style and the cause but would prefer a bargain, Volition America is selling last year’s DARKSPEED limited edition driver on its website for $399.
