My 5 Favorite Bets For The PGA Championship
It’s another major week. That means it’s a big week for gamblers.
If you followed my betting advice from the Masters, you would have been happy. Two of my three prop bets hit and I had a great chance at the third one (winning margin by three strokes) until Rory McIlroy made some brain farts on the back nine, overcoming those errors to win a green jacket.
At this week’s PGA Championship, we are going right to five bets I love. Below that, I’ll share the odds sheet as it stands right now (as always, keep in mind that these odds change).
I’m using ESPNBet for these odds but you will find similar offerings elsewhere.
Happy gambling to all those who partake.
1. “Make the cut” parlay with Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Corey Conners and Justin Thomas (+113)
Quail Hollow, site of this week’s PGA Championship, is a course based on ball striking and driving distance.
We have a ton of data on Quail because it’s an annual PGA Tour stop. Here is what our friends at Data Golf show for which skills are the most important around this track.

The thing to take note of here is how important driving distance is around Quail. This is not a great venue for short knockers. It doesn’t help those players that chipping and pitching is not as important of a skill here—it’s a lot of long rough around the greens and everyone is guessing in those situations.
The likely winner will be the best putter out of the elite players: almost no chance of a surprise victor this week.
Based on seeing this course in the past, I’m pretty certain the winner is going to be a top-10 player in the world.
This is also why I love a parlay where six of the game’s best all make the cut. Scheffler and McIlroy are obviously playing unreal golf. Thomas just won and contended again in Philadelphia. DeChambeau should love the PGA setup, a major he almost won last year. Morikawa and Conners are good enough iron players to stay involved despite their shorter length (relative to some of the big boys, at least).
Let’s take all six of them to make the cut at +113.
2. Justin Thomas to win (+1800)
OK, I have to give one winner’s pick.
I have a feeling about JT this week. He is playing awesome golf every single week. It feels like he could be peaking right now.
Remember when he didn’t even make the top 125 for the FedEx Cup? That is long gone. Thomas has rocketed up to No. 5 in Data Golf. He’s also fifth on Tour in Strokes Gained tee to green this year.
Thomas loves PGA setups, having already won two of these. One was at Quail Hollow. This seems like a great spot for him. And the price is pretty appealing compared to a Scheffler or McIlroy.
I would also look into “winner without Scheffler and McIlroy” bets for Thomas. He is at +1100 on those.
3. Xander Schauffele for a top-10 finish (+230)
I think we’re underestimating Schauffele.
The defending PGA champ started the season slow because of an injury but has put together four top-20 results in his last four starts, including a T8 at the Masters.
Schauffele’s floor is ridiculously high, as evidenced by his made-cut streak. And he has the speed to contend again this week in Charlotte.
I think it’s crazy that he is at +230 to finish in the top 10 while Jon Rahm is at +190. Rahm hasn’t looked great in recent majors. I would be hesitant to ride with him this week.
Schauffele, on the other hand, is flying under the radar and looks healthy.
4. Yes for a tournament hole-in-one (+140)
This is just a fun bet to root for, isn’t it?
This is a big-ass field of 156 players. Yes, 20 of them are club professionals. But that still leaves 136 of the best players in the world, each getting eight chances at an ace before the 36-hole cut.
The best field in major championship golf will deliver something for me here.
Now, this set of par-3s is no joke. None of them is shorter than 184 yards. They won’t be handing out aces like candy.
Still, I love this one. Believe in some magic, won’t you? Sprinkle a little pixie dust on a hole-in-one.
5. Corey Conners for top Canadian (+172)
I went with this one at the Masters and it was a winner so I’ll reheat it for the PGA.
There is an underestimation of how good Conners has been. He’s the No. 15 player in the world, picking up six top-11 finishes in 2025.
There are only four other Canadians to beat here and they are nowhere near the level of Conners.
The next best guy is Taylor Pendrith at No. 65 in Data Golf.
I would ride with Conners here (and at every major) where he gets this reasonable a price for something that isn’t that hard to do.
Enjoy the PGA Championship and let me know if there are any bets you like!
