Golf carts are a lot of fun but as soon as you attach the word “golf” to something, you suddenly find yourself surrounded by a thousand accessories you could buy. I’m not much of a gadget person but over the years, I’ve picked up a few golf cart accessories here and there. Now that I’ve been a golf cart owner for a while, I can tell you there are a few things I wasted money on. Here are four golf cart accessories I regret buying and what I’d choose instead.

Golf cart speaker

I wasted money on a few golf cart speakers before I realized they were pointless. One fell off the cart and didn’t survive and others just couldn’t handle being outdoors and last only a few months. If you are shopping for a basic golf cart speaker, don’t do it.

I bought the Bushnell Wingman View for my husband as a Father’s Day gift nearly two years ago. It’s still in like-new condition and we play golf multiple times a week all year long. The magnet is strong, it displays accurate yardages and you can use it in conjunction with the Bushnell app if you want to.

Yes, it was more money than the cheaper golf cart speakers I bought but it’s been worth it.

If you thought the 18th hole looked a little tricky during the playoff on Masters Sunday, you were right. It ranked as the second-hardest hole of the week with a scoring average over par. Augusta National is far from an easy golf course and, in 2025, it played every bit the part. Here’s how each hole played statistically, ranked from toughest to easiest based on scoring average.

Masters 2025: What the hole stats really showed

We looked at how the course played this year and made some comparisons to last year to find some of the most interesting facts.

The 5th hole (Magnolia) is the hardest

For the second year in a row, the par-4 fifth hole was the hardest hole at Augusta. The scoring average was 4.324. Only 18 birdies were made there all week but there were 10 doubles or worse.

A strong finish is not guaranteed

The 18th hole ranked second in overall difficulty. There were 75 bogeys and seven doubles or worse and it played to an average of 4.243. It makes Rory’s birdie on the first playoff hole much more impressive.

Rory wasn’t the only one who let the 13th get to him

“Azalea”, the 13th hole at Augusta, is always among the more exciting scoring holes. The scoring average was 4.828, up from 4.76 in 2024. There were six eagles and nearly 100 birdies but some big numbers.

This past Saturday was one of those days that makes you question everything, especially why you chose to live in New Hampshire.

News broke last week that Topgolf Callaway is selling off its German sportswear company, Jack Wolfskin.

File that newsflash under the heading, “Surprise/Not Surprise.”

The deal is not surprising for a couple of reasons but it is surprising given both the buyer and the current global political climate.

Surprise buyer, sort of

Topgolf Callaway is selling Jack Wolfskin to Chinese apparel and footwear giant ANTA Sports in a straight cash deal for a reported US$290 million. The sale is expected to be finalized by late June or early July.

Set Up with a Solid Foundation

1. Foot Position

• Width: Feet should be shoulder-width apart or slightly narrower—enough to stay stable without restricting motion.

• Alignment: Toes square to the target line helps keep everything neutral.

2. Ball Position

• Place the ball just forward of center in your stance.

• This promotes upward contact, helping the ball roll smoothly off the face (not bounce or skid).

3. Eye Line

• Your eyes should be directly over or just inside the ball.

Some golf training aids are everywhere, constantly advertised and hard to miss. But what are golfers actually buying? We asked the team at GolfTrainingAids.com to share their best-selling training aids under $100. Here they are, ranked with the top seller at No. 1.

1. Divot Board

The Divot Board has been golftrainingaids.com’s top-selling product for three years in a row. When it first came out, I was sent one to test and I was really impressed with it. You get instant feedback, it’s affordable and it held up much better than I thought it would.

I think a lot of golfers struggle with low point and path and grass doesn’t give you the same feedback as the Divot Board does. It’s a good training aid for indoors as well. You don’t need to hit a ball to benefit from it.

While I started at MyGolfSpy as a shoe tester, my new role permits only occasional moonlighting in the shoe testing department. Even still, I try and find as much time as I can to check out the latest and greatest from each brand.

Why? Because shoes, not golf, were my first love. Keep that in mind because when I tell you these are my five favorite golf shoes of the year (so far), It doesn’t mean these are the “best” golf shoes nor the top “performing” shoes of 2025 (so far).

The adidas COURSECUP stands out as a part of the new adidas Originals Golf drop earlier this month. Inspired by the adidas GOLD CUP (circa 1986), the shoe features modern tech but stays true to adidas Originals heritage and storied history. While I’ll definitely be rocking them without the included kiltie, no matter how you slice it, this golf shoe is flat out cool.

If you weren’t watching Rory McIlroy’s win on Sunday afternoon, you’re going to need a good excuse.

Even non-golfers tuned in to see if Rory McIlroy could finally complete the career Grand Slam. Not that his die-hard fans wouldn’t have taken a regulation win but the playoff made it even more dramatic.

The 2025 Masters finale delivered in every way, including viewership.

The week started off shaky

Early reports indicated viewership was down for the first two rounds. The coverage averaged just 2.3 million viewers, a 28-percent drop from 2024.

We can chalk that up to people waiting for the weekend or deciding whether Rory would make a run but things got off to a rough start.
