TENSEI “reincarnating” at Cutting Edge of Technology and Materials

We’re kicking this off with a bit of history.

Mitsubishi’s flagship shaft franchise, Diamana, is cemented in equipment folklore. Launched in 2004, it’s become professional golf’s winningest graphite driver shaft of all time.

Heading into its 20th year, the Diamana brand is still going strong.

When Mitsubishi added TENSEI to its product line eight years ago, it was expected to complement but remain subordinate to Diamana on Mitsubishi’s shaft depth chart.

Its younger sibling had other ideas. For proof, look no further back than this month’s Nedbank Challenge.

PRICE DROP: COBRA’s Tech-Packed Putters Are $150

This Holiday season, give someone the gift of less three putts.

Okay, that’s a little deceptive on my part. While I can’t guarantee that a new putter will make you a better putter, I do know that saving money on golf gear is always something to cheer about.

COBRA just dropped the price on their Vintage Putters. You can pick one up now for just $150.

Each COBRA Vintage Putter comes standard with SIK Face Technology. The translation? More consistent roll no matter your angle of attack. Throw in a SuperStroke grip and adjustable weighting, and you’ve got yourself a solid flatstick.

With multiple models to choose from, there’s no reason a COBRA Vintage Putter shouldn’t make it under your tree this year.

Forum Member Review:  MacGregor MT86 Irons

The Testing Opportunity

The MacGregor Golf MT-86 series merges vintage charm with contemporary features to bring old-school flair to a modern set of clubs. In this Forum Member Review: MacGregor MT86 Irons we will explore what our members had to say and the rebirth of these fan-favorite irons.

The MT-86 series is made up of two iron models: the MT-86 Pro and the MT-86 OS.  According to MacGregor, “the original MT irons were iconic, brand-defining irons that put MacGregor on the map and they were simply beautiful.”

One of our testers, GolfSpy TCB, literally was able to put the MT-86s up against a classic MacGregor of the past.  He found the MT-86s “visually stunning” and “a perfect blend of the decades-old legacy of MacGregor irons.”

Both the MT-86 Pro and the MT-86 OS feature foam-filled hollow-body heads and strategically placed tungsten. MacGregor says this moves “the center of gravity lower and deeper in the club while also increasing MOI so off-center strikes still fly.” Lofts are around what you would expect for player’s distance irons or player’s irons.

Once our testers submitted their specs, they didn’t have to wait long to get the irons in hand. Then it was time to get out on the course and see what these classically beautiful irons could do in the modern world.
