But there’s no point in having a personal launch monitor if you don’t know how to get the best out of it.
1. Gamification
What a thoroughly vile-sounding word. It’s almost as bad as “moist.” The meaning of the word, though, we can get behind. Gamification has got more new people trying the game at venues such as TopGolf than have done in years. It engages your brain differently with a typical practice session, there’s a sense of achievement from completing your goals and leveling up that you just don’t get from beating balls.

His primary focus on training Lydia was to build confidence from her past successes. He recognized that she just had to find and release the game that he knew was within. He helped her understand that she had performed well in the past so her skill and attitude was already in her mind and body. All that he did was to give her the conviction to let it re-emerge.

1/ Stewart Cink winning RBC Heritage at Hilton Head by 3 shots at the age of 47. He focused on a hole by hole game plan each night before each round with his son who happened to also be his caddy. He said that it cleared his vision and his ability to make the shots that he wanted.

Like most of the golf equipment world, PXG is off to a busy start in 2021. It refreshed its 0211 offering as nearly a full bag’s worth of value-priced clubs. It deployed GEN4 drivers, fairways, irons and hybrids for its troops and released an updated line of Battle Ready putters.
The apparel side of the business is firing on all cylinders as well. And while, with polos starting at $120, you probably won’t see much of it in your Saturday foursome, it does suggest a commitment to maintaining a strong presence at the spendy end of the market.
The summary takeaway: Since its inception, PXG has grown and evolved but it sure as hell isn’t going away anytime soon. So much for “they won’t last two years.”

One and one-third human beings is what a maxed-out golf course puts on one acre of open space under current COVID restrictions, a 1.3 to 1 ratio that has been the game’s ticket to spectacular success during the pandemic. It’s the unshakable fact about the game that persuaded public policy makers that golf is among the safest forms of outdoor recreation; indeed, the safest when one considers that unlike other outdoor recreational activities, the business model of golf involves strict control over ingress and egress.
To be 100% accurate, golf doesn’t place 1.3 persons all by themselves on that 1 acre. Four persons share a hole, which does put them in proximity on tees and greens, but if there is an easier place to guarantee 6 feet of separation than a tee or a green, we’d like to know.
To attend the U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open, residents of California must provide a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination and those from out of state must be fully vaccinated.
