PING thinks their staffer Viktor Hovland had a season worth commemorating with the “Hovi” Signature PLD Limited DS72.
Of all of the things that have been commemorated with putters, making one to celebrate Hovland’s accomplishments this year seems justified.
Hovland’s game got stronger and stronger as the year went on. He played like a giant boulder rolling down a hill. You may not have noticed it moving at first but, by the time it got to the bottom of the hill, there was nothing that was going to stop its momentum.
I truly enjoyed watching Hovland separate himself from the pack in the FedEx Cup playoffs. He was in total command of his game. That run alone would be a reason for celebration. When he chipped in from the green on his first Ryder Cup hole, I knew that the U.S. team was in trouble.
The latest update to the Bushnell Launch Pro is a simple case of addition by subtraction. That is tot say that Bushnell is dropping the price by $1,500 (from $3,499 to $1,999) but the modified configuration is equipped with “ball only” data. More on that in a bit.
We don’t need to dig up any old Econ 101 notebooks to understand that, for some golfers, a less-expensive entry point is what makes a purchase viable and allows a company in a competitive market to acquire a new customer.
The salient question becomes, “For $ 1,500 less out of pocket, what exactly am I giving up?”

Bushnell Launch Pro: What Stays the Same
Let’s start with the easy stuff. The foundational technology of the new Bushnell Launch Pro configuration is the same model we tested recently and named the “Best Golf Launch Monitor” of 2023. For that matter, the only difference between the Bushnell Launch Pro (in any configuration) and the pricier Foresight GC3 is the payment structure and access to various software packages.
Today, TaylorMade announced a limited-edition collection in partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing, the current world champion. The collection, set to release Oct. 17, includes a full lineup of custom TaylorMade products inspired by Oracle Red Bull Racing’s dominating RB19 car.
While TaylorMade hasn’t released details or images on the entire lineup, here’s what we already know about the “Speed Craft Collection.”

What Is A Mid-Handicap?
A mid-handicap golfer has a handicap index of between 10 and 20. To confuse the issue, there are also categories for a “lower mid-handicap” and a “higher mid-handicap” golfer.
In general, a mid-handicapper typically shoots between 80 and 94 for 18 holes.
