It’s Masters week and you know what that means.

Masters swag … a whole lot of it. Of course, nobody is going to call it “Masters” anything because of trademarks, but when we hear phrases like season opener or azalea collection, we know what’s up.

And so here we are ogling TaylorMade’s 2025 Season Opener Collection – the rendition of what has become a tradition for TaylorMade.

While TaylorMade hasn’t done much in the way of themed limited edition clubs, the company is offering up an assortment of headcovers, golf balls, and a staff bag.

At $600, I’d argue the latter is wholly impractical, but if you’re a collector of all things Augusta or really looking to make an obnoxious statement on the golf course, the staff bag is absolutely worth considering.

Callaway has dropped a new version of its popular Chrome Soft golf ball and something about it sure looks familiar.

The design of the new Chrome Soft 360 Yellow Stripe bears more than a passing resemblance to TaylorMade’s Tour Response Stripe. I’m guessing you didn’t need me to point that out.

Not long ago we shared a list of the top-selling cheap golf balls of last season. This time around, we’re looking at the premium golf balls that dominated sales last year.

While the balls on last week’s list average roughly $25 a dozen, the leaders in the premium category sell for more than $50 a dozen. They include the most popular choices for avid and serious golfers who are willing to pay a comparable premium for the performance offered by multilayer constructions and urethane covers.

As with our previous list, here’s the fine print: not every place that sells golf balls reports sales data. With that, sales data for direct-to-consumer brands can be spotty. That said, it’s also true that, unlike most golf equipment categories, the majority of golf ball sales still happen on-course so there’s at least a case to be made that the data, while not perfect, is more reliable than it would be for other equipment categories.

Before we get to the top five, here are some things that you might find interesting.

It’s been a long eight months since the last major championship but the Masters is finally here.

We’ll be getting into coverage of the actual golf soon enough but there is still time to geek out over Masters lore and everything else that makes this tournament a singular patron experience.

Now we are delving into the history of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters.

Most of you reading this know the core facts about Augusta National’s founding and how the Masters came to prominence. You know the names of co-founders Clifford Roberts and Bobby Jones, the genius of architect Alister MacKenzie and all of the iconic moments from the tournament.

Before adidas landed on the new COURSECUP, they dove deep into the archives and spent time with the GOLD CUP from 1986. This 40-year-old golf shoe served as the inspiration for the COURSECUP, evidenced by the removable kiltie and oh-so-soft leather upper.

You’ll notice a few other surface-level changes, too. Namely, the absence of Velcro. While it played well in 1986, the “kids these days” are more into laces.

Great traction in a golf shoe gives you the confidence to swing without worrying about slipping or sliding. Golfers have traditionally turned to spiked shoes for the best grip but in 2025, we found that the top spikeless models now rival their spiked counterparts in traction. We’ve pulled together the three best spikeless and three best spiked golf shoes for traction. If you want to attack the ball without questioning the support under your feet, these are the shoes for you.

adidas adizero ZG (Spikeless)

The adidas adizero ZG is the most stable spikeless golf shoe of 2025 and it also tops the list for traction. It’s lightweight, low-profile and built with serious torsional rigidity.

The reason the adizero ZG didn’t top the list of best spikeless shoes in 2025 was its performance in the wet. The waterproof Sprintskin synthetic upper didn’t hold up quite as well as other waterproof protection.

Min Woo Lee is finally a PGA Tour champion. He’s been playing great golf lately so the win wasn’t a shock. The real surprise came when I saw the price of the grips he uses. Grips matter but I wanted to take a closer look at what makes these so expensive.

What grips does Min Woo Lee use?

Many professional golfers choose standard rubber or multi-compound grips from brands like Golf Pride or Lamkin. Min Woo Lee uses a grip called The Roo from The Grip Master.

These premium grips are made from authentic kangaroo leather which is lightweight yet highly durable. They’re treated with a proprietary plant-based substance that gives them a unique, sticky feel and helps maintain traction in all weather conditions.

Folks, I’m no Marty Hackel. I’m not even the apparel guy around here. Frankly, I had never heard of Sunday Swagger (maybe I did but forgot) before the announcement of their new Spring Collection hit my inbox.

I can’t tell you anything about their materials, quality or fit, but I can tell you that the company was “founded in 2019 by visionary entrepreneur Mark Carmona to redefine and push the boundaries of golf fashion” and is a company that “never sacrifices comfort for personality.”

I tell you what, the golf apparel game sure has gotten serious. And while I’m as cynical as usual about all of it, I’m also almost of the generation that will click on absolutely anything.

So, yeah, you got me, PR person. You made me look.

Perusing the spring drop, I found three things I really like and one polo I wouldn’t put on my worst enemy’s corpse.

OGIO golf bags are known for their bold patterns and unique look. When we tested golf bags in 2025, we looked at storage capacity, zipper functionality, weight, extra features, dividers and more. The OGIO cart bags did well, and a few of the stand bags finished in the top half of the test. A few did not. If you’re an OGIO golf bag fan, here are the details you need.

OGIO Silencer (Cart Bag) – Runner-Up for Best Cart Bag of 2025

The OGIO Silencer was the second-best cart bag of 2025 with a total score of 93.2/100. The Silencer is bold (like most of OGIO’s bags), has a stable base that sits well in a cart and is loaded with smart features like a molded valuables pocket and a club-silencing system. Not everyone will love the unique top but the storage and functionality are top tier. If you want flair and protection, this is your winner.

OGIO Woode (Cart Bag) – Top 10 in Cart Bag Testing

The OGIO Woode cart bag didn’t do as well as the Silencer but it still earned a top 10 overall. It has the more traditional eight-way Woode top so it’s better if the Silencer technology is not for you. Still, you’ll find good separation between woods and irons and a modern-looking cart bag. It’s also about a pound lighter than the OGIO Silencer.

OGIO Fuse (Stand Bag) – Best OGIO Stand Bag

The OGIO stand bags did not perform as well as the OGIO cart bags. The Fuse was the best of the OGIO stand bags, scoring 92.75 and finishing 16th out of 45 stand bags tested. It was noted as a good choice for its lightweight carry performance and solid storage capacity.

It’s the best OGIO option for walkers who want room for everything without adding extra weight and bulk.
