G/FORE Golf Shoes: Which Pair is Right For You?

Having a hard time finding a golf shoe that incorporates style, tradition, modern appeal and performance? G/FORE golf shoes could be a solution. G/Fore makes things simple with a few core styles but features lots of different colors and designs.

Here’s our take on which G/FORE golf shoes could be right for you.

What are G/FORE Golf Shoes?

G/FORE golf shoes started in California more than 10 years ago. The idea was to create a more modern design that brought a young and fresh look to the golf course. At the same time, G/FORE aimed to ensure that golf’s traditions and history were not ignored.

As a result, G/FORE shoes look like “old meets new.” In addition, the design features are more than just fashion—the performance elements stand out, too.

What makes G/FORE Golf Shoes unique?

All G/FORE golf shoes feature a massaging insole. The insole is antimicrobial, removable and washable. As you walk the course, your foot should feel as though it’s being massaged, always a good choice for the walker.

Behind the Design

TaylorMade teamed with local artist James Haunt to create the Summer Commemorative collection for the U.S. Open. Haunt describes his style as both gritty and vibrant, something he attributes to the dual-sided nature of living in Los Angeles.

The design itself is a juxtaposition of the buttoned-up, traditional side of golf and the gritty street culture of the city. Graffiti overtones and paint textures can be seen throughout the collection.

Q: Will you be lab testing the new @pxg ball soon? – Grumbles99

I don’t know about “soon” (it’s a process) but we’ve started ordering the PXG balls and will start testing them as soon as the Ball Lab is up and running in its new location at MGS headquarters.

Q: How close are we to artificial turf that seriously mimics grass and is affordable? – rickh9holes

There are certainly some brands that claim to have turf that closely mimics real grass. With more golfers getting fitted for clubs indoors, it’s certainly something that matters more than it has before.

At a minimum, fitters need to understand how their turf (whatever they happen to be using) impacts the data on which they’re basing their club recommendations.

With that said, I think we’re getting closer but the affordability is a different story. Reasonably, the best turf is that which most closely resembles real grass and that’s inevitably going to be more costly than the average mat.
