It’s a well-known fact that seven out of 10 doctors agree that quarterly golf trips are mandatory for long, happy and healthy lives.
Those other three quacks? Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard …
Once you’ve sold your better half on the obvious quality of life benefits of a late fall golf trip, you’re going to have to gear up. Your summer stuff is fine if you’re heading to Streamsong, Scottsdale or Palm Springs, but you’ll need to bundle up if you’re heading anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon line.
In that spirit, we’ve put together some recommendations to help you stay warm, dry and comfortable as you make your way to Pebble Beach or any other less-than-tropical golf destination.
Northern California is a dandy spot for a fall golf trip. The crown jewel, of course, is Pebble Beach, but there are plenty of other great destinations between the Napa Valley and the Monterey Peninsula. Daytime temperatures are typically in the low-to-mid 60s, while nighttime lows can dip into the mid-40s.

That persistent slice? The pulls that start left and stay left? The monster snap hook? They all trace back to one fundamental problem: your swing path is off.
Swing path determines where your ball starts and, when you add in the clubface position, how it will curve. Get it wrong and you’ll fight compensations that make golf miserable. Get it right and suddenly the game suddenly feels easier than ever.
You don’t need months of lessons or a complete swing overhaul. Three specific drills can fix your path issues faster than you’d think possible.
(All references are for right-handed golfers.)
Most golfers obsess over their grip, their stance and their takeaway, which are all important. However, swing path (the direction the clubhead travels through impact) can undermine everything else.
If you know, you know.
The adidas ZX line is one of those icons that never gets the love it deserves. It first dropped in the 1980s and has since been resurrected a few times. Shoes like the ZX 8000 were popular in 1988, and they’re still popular today.
Heck, if you saw the numbers the ZX Flux did in the high school halls of Utah, you’d be impressed.
So when adidas decided to drop a retro version of the ZX 8000 for winter golf, I couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic. The problem? They didn’t really tell anyone.
That’s what my job is!

Michael Brennan earned a Korn Ferry Tour spot with a dominant late-summer burst on the PGA Tour Americas. In two days at Black Desert in the Bank of Utah Championship, he charged to the top of a PGA Tour leaderboard.
Golf, while appearing to be a gentle sport, demands a significant level of physical conditioning, mental focus, and technical skill. To truly excel and avoid injury, a comprehensive training and conditioning program is essential. This document outlines key areas of focus to help golfers enhance their performance on the course.
The Importance of Physical Fitness in Golf
Many amateur golfers underestimate the physical demands of the game. A powerful and consistent golf swing requires strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance. Neglecting these aspects can lead to inconsistent play, reduced power, and a higher risk of injury.

Vessel Golf is known, first and foremost, as a golf bag company. They’re not cheap but they’ve been fixtures on MyGolfSpy’s medal stand ever since we started golf bag testing. It’s not just us that thinks so, as Vessel golf bags are a fixture on the PGA and LIV tours.
Over the last several years, however, Vessel owner Ronnie Shaw has expanded into more travel and lifestyle gear (there’s also plenty of pickleball gear but I don’t want to go down that particular rabbit hole). After careful consideration, here are five non-golf bag items we think are worth a look.
Frequent travelers know the indisputable truth: cheap luggage isn’t good; good luggage isn’t cheap.
At $269, the Vessel PrimeX Backpack isn’t cheap but you’ll probably get tired of it before it actually wears out.
Like Vessel golf bags, the PrimeX backpack features well-organized pockets. It’s big enough to hold a 15-inch laptop, with velour-lined front and side pockets for your cell phone and other valuables. The top accessory pocket has a magnetic closure and includes a key leash and storage space for business cards, cords or other small items. Overall, it’s compact enough to stow under the seat in front of you.

For the recreational golfer who cares about their performance, the game often poses a daunting, seemingly paradoxical, question:
How can you get better when you have less time to play?
So many of us are forced to cut back on golf because other life responsibilities get in the way. We get married, have kids, focus on our career pursuits—or maybe it’s all of the above.
Conventional wisdom suggests your golfing life will inevitably suffer under these conditions. Practicing and playing less golf? That isn’t a recipe for even sustaining your handicap, let alone improving it.
This may be one way to look at it, but Tangent Golf wants to flip the problem on its head to give you a new perspective.

When it comes to scoring, wedge spin is one of the most revealing stats in golf ball testing. A ball that spins more on wedge shots provides extra stopping power and control on approach and short shots. But not every cover (even the urethane ones) delivers the same performance and this year’s 2025 MyGolfSpy Golf Ball Test presented by UNRL proved spin differences are wider than many golfers realize.

Callaway Chrome Tour X topped the charts for spin. Surprisingly, balls like the Tour Soft and Kirkland Performance+ posted tour-level spin despite their lower price points.
At the opposite end, distance-focused models such as Callaway Supersoft, TaylorMade Tour Response and Vice Pro Plus offered far less spin on full swing wedge shots.

TaylorMade TP5 and Bridgestone TOUR B XS led the pack for 35-yard wedge spin, holding over 5,900 rpm and maintaining consistency across partial shots. The Wilson Staff Model X and Chrome Tour X followed closely. Value options like Maxfli Tour X again punched above its price point, offering short-game spin numbers not far from tour-level performance.
At the other end, balls such as Callaway Supersoft, TaylorMade SpeedSoft and Titleist Velocity produced significantly lower spin. The decision for golfers comes down to high-spin urethane for precision and stopping power or ionomer-covered designs for added launch and rollout.

The United States stayed perfect at the LPGA's International Crown tournament on Friday, winning its third and fourth fourball matches and ending No. 1-ranked Jeeno Thitikul's unbeaten record in the team competition.
Austin Cook, who replaced Erik van Rooyen as a late entry, was at 6 under before darkness halted play in the Bank of Utah Championship on Thursday.
