TaylorMade TP5 and TP5x pix golf balls now available in yellow
Do you like or maybe even love the TaylorMade Golf TP5 (and TP5x) pix pattern but wish it came in yellow?
Well, now it does.
Guys, there’s no tech story here (at least not above and beyond the one we’ve already told).
The selling point of these new TaylorMade balls is that yellow offers increased visibility and while that’s probably true, it’s also true that some people just like yellow golf balls.
Color is fun.

Vokey WedgeWorks A+ Grind Lob Wedge
For the season thus far, Vokey WedgeWorks releases have been relatively straightforward. That is to say there hasn’t been anything we haven’t seen before. And while that’s perhaps not as exciting as new grinds with exotic finishes (heard of Slate Blue? The best finish), it’s reflective of an effort by the Vokey team to make lineup staples like the low bounce K Grind and L Grind available to golfers who want them, even when they’re not included in the stock retail lineup.
With the launch of the Vokey WedgeWorks A+ Grind lob wedge, we get our first taste of something different built on the SM10 platform.
The WedgeWorks A+ is the first new grind we’ve seen from Vokey in a while but it isn’t entirely unfamiliar.
As you may know, “grind” simply refers to the shape of the sole. With that, there are infinite possibilities, even if the real-world results are subtle modifications of the tried and true.
Case in point: The WedgeWorks A Grind launched in November of last year. Simply, an A Grind is an L Grind (one of Vokey’s staple low-bounce offerings) with the ribbon (the transition point between the center portion of the sole and the trailing edge) smoothed out.

Bradley’s Ryder Cup Captaincy a Total Stunner
The Americans went off the board for their 2025 Ryder Cup captain.
Way off the board.
Keegan Bradley, at 39, will be the youngest American captain in more than 60 years. He is set to lead the U.S. side at Bethpage Black 14 months from now.
The move is incredibly surprising on multiple fronts.
For one, the Americans had been sticking with the European model of having assistant captains rise through the ranks to assume the head captaincy. Following Tom Watson’s disastrous 2014 captaincy, the following four American captains all had extensive experience as assistant captains in previous Ryder Cups. All of them were well past their playing primes while they were captain. The idea had been to establish a consistent model of how teams were constructed and led.
Our Top Five Favorite Bryson DeChambeau YouTube Videos
Bryson DeChambeau is all the rage at the moment.
He won the U.S. Open for the second time and has become the greatest showman in golf. His 55-yard bunker shot on the 72nd hole will now go down as one of the most timely clutch shots in major championship history.
Unlike several prominent players who left the PGA Tour for LIV, DeChambeau’s decision has resulted in some of the best golf of his career while also allowing him the flexibility to create content on the side.
A big part of that content is DeChambeau’s bustling YouTube channel. When the final putt dropped at the U.S. Open, his channel had 695,000 subscribers. A few weeks later, that number has already exceeded 800,000 subscribers.
And it’s not just big subscriber numbers—the views and engagement on his videos are unprecedented for a player of his caliber. Just one week after posting about winning the U.S. Open, the video had over 700,000 views.

This Piece of Equipment Is Killing Your Game!
If you play a matte golf ball, I suggest putting it into retirement. Now while they might look cool, I can tell you right now that after testing, they actually cut your spin almost in half.
Moisture’s present on damn near every golf shot that we hit. And with a reduction in friction from that moisture, it’s pretty much game over for you.
There’s a reason we don’t see them on tour.
We’ve done extensive testing on matte golf balls and can conclude that they are hurting, not helping your game.

Bryson’s Bulging Irons – Do you need them?
Bryson DeChambeau made headlines for winning the U.S. Open. Part of the story was his latest foray into what, by mainstream standards, qualifies as unusual, perhaps even oddball, equipment choices.
The one-sentence summary? Bryson is playing 3D-printed irons with faces that have bulge baked in.
That last part of the design is uniquely Bryson but it may be enough to make you wonder if you need bulge on your irons.
What are Bulge and Roll?
Before we get to that, let’s take a step back and explain what bulge and roll are and what they do.
Integral to metalwood design, bulge and roll are present on every driver, fairway wood and hybrid face. There’s an element of semantics at play here because both are just more specific ways of saying curvature.

Is This Premium Golf Shoe Any Good?
There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What We Tried:
The Duca Del Cosma Davinci golf shoes. Premium spikeless golf shoes that aim to blend fashion and function.
Who Tried It:
Connor. Director of Content and resident sneakerhead. I’m a sucker for leather. Yes, I’m a bit of a snob. And, no, leather isn’t always better. There’s just something about the smell of a brand-new pair of leather shoes that speaks to me. Bottle it up and sell it at Bath and Body Works, please!
Premium Versus Performance
Duca Del Cosma is known for taking classic golf silhouettes and upgrading them with premium leathers. The Davinci is no different. This blucher-style shoe features a full Italian leather upper atop a rubber spikeless outsole.
While I tend to prefer premium shoes for my personal use, I’ve often had trouble finding a premium pair that matches the performance of the typical synthetic stuff.
