Who Is Golf’s Second-Best Player? It’s Open For Debate

It’s abundantly clear that Scottie Scheffler is the best male golfer in the world.

After that? You can make an argument for several players but no one stands out above the rest.

Scheffler is the dominant top dog among active players for everything except total career accomplishments. He just won the Masters, was the first to repeat as a Players champion and has been leading Data Golf’s Strokes Gained total metric over the past two and a half years.

We’re witnessing greatness with Scheffler, a player who has a path to becoming the best since Tiger.

If you were to rank players since 2010, Scheffler wouldn’t be at the top yet—he needs more major victories to get there—but he’s left no doubt about his No. 1 spot over the past few years, including 2024.

Melin Hits the Green With Links Front 9 Collection

Melin’s latest limited edition hat collection is designed to make you stand out and fit in on the golf course. Introducing the Links Front 9 Collection. The Front 9 collection relies on old-school argyle patterns with a modern aesthetic to capture both golf’s storied history and its bright future.

Fresh off the heels of Melin’s first Links drop, the new five piece collection pays homage to tradition with the benefit of the modern performance features that make Melin hats the best in the business.

jQuery( document ).ready( function( $ ) { var slides = $( '#mgs_gallery_663e88b1218f5 .mgs-gallery-images .mgs-gallery-image' ).length; if ( slides 6 ) { slides = 6; } $( '#mgs_gallery_663e88b1218f5 .mgs-gallery-images' ).slick( { slidesToShow: 1, slidesToScroll: 1, fade: true, prevArrow: '', nextArrow: '', asNavFor: '#mgs_gallery_663e88b1218f5 .mgs-gallery-thumbs', swipe: false, mobileFirst: true, } ); $( '#mgs_gallery_663e88b1218f5 .mgs-gallery-thumbs' ).slick( { slidesToShow: ( slides - 1 ), //less than number of slides, so it always shows infinite scroll (bugfix) slidesToScroll: 1, arrows: false, asNavFor: '#mgs_gallery_663e88b1218f5 .mgs-gallery-images', centerMode: true, focusOnSelect: true, infinite: true, mobileFirst: true, responsive: [ { breakpoint: 1023, settings: { slidesToShow: 3, }, }, { breakpoint: 600, settings: { slidesToShow: 1, }, }, ], } ); $( '#mgs_gallery_663e88b1218f5' ).magnificPopup( { delegate: '.mgs-gallery-trigger', type: 'image', gallery: { enabled: true, arrowMarkup: '', }, } ); } );

If there ever was a time to splurge on a hat, it’s now. While all five styles are enticing, my personal favorite is the new Legend model. This is, without a doubt, the coolest dad hat out there.

Of course, Melin’s hats don’t just look cool. They’re hydrophobic, sweat resistant and anti-microbial. Translation? They are built to perform better than any hat on the market.

Melin is the bar, and they continue to set it with each new collection. You can shop the Links Front 9 Collection now at Melin.

The Best Vintage Golf Shirts I Found on eBay

After my recent eBay escapades in which I found some cool vintage golf bags and hats, it’s time we start the hunt for some sweet, vintage golf polos.

You can spend hours at the Goodwill going through racks on racks. Or you could spend a few minutes on eBay and find a host of nostalgic pieces that will upgrade your wardrobe and have the cart girl wondering why you look so old and mature.

Pro tip: Use laundry scent beads to get rid of that “vintage” smell.

No kidding. Vintage is in style and there are plenty of options to go around. Here are just a few of the vintage golf shirts I found on eBay.

Vintage Ashworth Golf Polo

Can we have a list of vintage golf shirts without mentioning Ashworth? This slick geometric pattern is about as nostalgic as it gets. This shirt is 100-percent cotton and in great condition. You can pick up a host of Ashworth polos for solid prices on eBay.
